About Us

“The best part of this journey is working together as a family and making great tasting syrup.”

The Simmons family farm, owned by Chris and Shelley,  sits along a country road in Morrill Maine with a beautiful view of the Camden Hills. This is the same farm where Chris was raised while his parents operated it as a working dairy farm.

No stranger to the maple process, Shelley grew up making maple syrup in rural Somerset County with her family, while Chris and his brothers experimented making syrup on a backyard pan with inspiration from an uncle in New York who also had his own sugar house.

Carrying on the family tradition with their four daughters, Chris and Shelley started the Simmons and Daughters Sugar House in 2008. From tapping trees to hiking through the woods collecting sap to tending the evaporator as the boiling process begins,, everyone plays an important roll in the maple syrup process.

“If you find yourself in the area, stop by to enjoy the view as well as our wonderful Maine maple syrup!”
